Students spent a day learning bushcraft and foraging skills with The Living Project, exploring nature through hands-on activities that built confidence, teamwork and a deeper connection with the outdoors. This session introduced shelter building, safe fire lighting and plant identification, offering a meaningful break from the classroom as part of an exciting week of activities.

Students enjoyed a great day in Canterbury, starting with a tour of the old city before relaxing with some shopping and food. Canterbury’s history stretches back to 597 when St Augustine founded the first cathedral on the site. It later became a major place of pilgrimage after the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in 1170.

Students spent the morning learning how to bake knotted bread, requiring plenty of teamwork to achieve the perfect lattice knot. Congratulations to Ian and Brayden for winning the cup cake competition and Anissa and Xiao for winning the bread competition!
We then enjoyed an afternoon at the theatre watching Top Hat, the Olivier Award-winning musical filled with Irving Berlin’s classic songs and glamorous dance numbers. The show brings the golden age of Hollywood to life, based on the iconic 1935 film with favourites such as Cheek to Cheek and Let’s Face the Music and Dance.
It was a wonderful chance for students to experience a stylish and uplifting production while soaking up the atmosphere of a major UK tour.

Our students enjoyed a brilliant day exploring Hampton Court Palace, soaking up the sunshine as they learned about the rich history of one of Britain’s most iconic royal residences. From wandering Henry VIII’s grand Tudor kitchens to discovering the elegant Baroque apartments, they gained a vivid sense of how the Palace evolved over centuries.
There was plenty of fun along the way, including time in the famous 300‑year‑old maze and spotting the astronomical clock that has been keeping time since 1540. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and riverside views, it was the perfect setting for hands on learning and a memorable day out.
