Every student forges their own Global Strategic Pathway to success at OIC Brighton. Based on the highly successful model used by Oxford International College – which is consistently among the top A-level colleges in the UK – our approach is designed for high achievers who aspire to study at the world’s best universities

OUR SUPER CURRICULAR PROGRAMME
Our ground-breaking Super curricular programme is designed to help you realise your long-term ambitions. Through six distinct strands, you’ll build an exceptional portfolio of extra qualifications, experiences, and global skills that will ensure you stand out from the crowd.
Beyond the syllabus
Our students expand their specialist knowledge – and become experts in their field – through a personalised programme of academic-related activities outside of the curriculum. Opportunities include the Higher (Years 9-11) and Extended (Years 12-13) Project Qualifications, which are the equivalent to one GCSE and half an A-level respectively. You’ll also benefit from career-specific work placements, internships, and summer courses.
Programmes, awards, and competitions
Your talents will shine brightly through innovative programmes, awards, and global competitions. These include the Young Enterprise Competition, which offers an insight into running a business, and the LAMDA programme. On Nord Anglia’s award-winning Global Campus platform, a myriad of activities – including STEAM challenges, writing competitions, and coding courses – give you the chance to collaborate and compete with like-minded peers from around the world.
Clubs and societies
Our student-led programme of clubs and societies nurtures individual talents, creates strong bonds, and develops a host of transferable skills. You’ll be encouraged to plan and run your own activities, enabling you to do what you love in your free time. Whether it’s science, sports, the arts, or something a little bit different, our Super curricular team will work with you to ensure we cater to your interests.
Further personal development
At OIC Brighton, we encourage our students to develop the ‘growth mindset’ they need to excel. This means providing learning opportunities that nurture a breadth of global skills, from critical thinking and creativity to digital literacy and teamwork. Programmes range from House challenges and guest lectures to courses and challenges on our Global Campus platform.
Considering university options
From day one, we’ll encourage you to think about your university destination – and put in place a plan to help you get there. We understand there’s lots to consider, which is why we offer one-to-one careers advice sessions, in-college seminars, and an annual university fair. You’ll also go on open days and residential visits, and meet with representatives from some of the world’s top universities.
Applying to university
Our comprehensive support programme will guide you through the university application process. Pre- and post-summer UCAS sessions, preparatory workshops, and aptitude test coaching will give you an advantage when it comes to admissions interviews. Students applying for Oxford and Cambridge also benefit from specialist Oxbridge mentors. We create individual pathways for young people applying to universities overseas, too.
UNIVERSITY DESTINATIONS
WORLD-RENOWNED ADMISSIONS EXPERTS
With impressive academic results – and a toolkit of future-proofed skills and attributes – our students have an extra edge when it comes to their university applications.
At our sister school, Oxford International College (OIC), a remarkable one in three applicants were accepted to study medicine at either Oxford or Cambridge in 2023. What’s more, over the past four years, more than half of OIC’s applicants have gone on to study at one of the UK’s top five universities. Recent OIC graduates have been accepted by the University of Hong Kong, London School of Economics, and University of Toronto, among many others.
We’ll encourage you to go through the Oxbridge application process, too. Whether you get an interview or not, it’s a fantastic learning experience that’s great preparation for the future.

You’ll be supported by a team of experts, which include our Deputy Principal (Pastoral and Wellbeing), Boarding House Parents, Form Teacher, and Strategy Tutor. Our dedicated Counsellor is on hand to listen and offer expert advice, too. And in our wellbeing centre – and through our OICB ROCKS programme – you’ll receive the bespoke support you need to be confident, believe in yourself, and overcome any challenge.

The MIT-Nord Anglia STEAM programme develops our students’ problem-solving skills through real-world challenges that get them thinking outside the box.

Our global programme inspires students to look beyond individual subjects, sparking their curiosity through our hands-on interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. Guided by the world’s leading STEAM institution, our students take part in challenges and visit MIT on a trip led by experts from the university. Our collaboration also gives our teachers the opportunity to learn from specialists in the world of STEAM, coming up with cutting-edge lessons that inspire our students in the future.
UNICEF
Students are challenged to make a difference both locally and internationally, working together to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
UNICEF
Our collaboration with UNICEF challenges both students and teachers to think about how they can make a meaningful, positive impact on the world around them. This includes embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) in our teaching and learning, using materials developed by UNICEF. Our students also take part in an annual Global Challenge, as well as local outreach opportunities in our community.
