What a performance. Despite the final 6-0 score, this was our strongest display of the season and a real sign of progress. On a heavy, muddy pitch, the team stuck to the game plan from the first whistle, showing confidence, organisation and real purpose.
We created early chances and stayed solid at the back. Even after Varndean went ahead, the team kept pushing and were unfortunate not to earn a penalty. A second goal before the break was tough to take, but there were plenty of positives.
The second half was outstanding. Our passing, movement and attacking play were the best we have produced this season, and we were unlucky not to score after several close chances. Although late goals stretched the scoreline, they did not reflect the quality or effort on show.
Every player should be proud. The team proved they can compete and continue to grow each week. Special credit to Ali for his leadership and thanks to Jonathan and Jeremy for their support on the sidelines.
