An outstanding 75% of all grades awarded at highest levels (grades 9-6)

Students at Oxford International College Brighton are celebrating an exceptional set of GCSE results, with 62% of all grades awarded at A*/A equivalent level and three quarters of grades awarded at the equivalent of A*-B. Overall, 95% of grades achieved a standard pass or above.

The results reflect the ambition, determination and hard work of students, supported by dedicated teachers and families who have worked alongside them throughout their educational journey.

 

Strength Across all Subjects

Success was evident across the curriculum, with particularly strong outcomes in Mathematics, the Sciences, English and Languages. Mathematics students achieved an outstanding 81% of grades at A*/A equivalent levels, whilst Chemistry students secured 71% of grades at A*/A equivalent levels and more than half achieved the highest grades available. English Language and English Literature both recorded a 100% pass rate, whilst students studying English as a Second Language achieved exceptional success, with 82% securing A*/A equivalent outcomes.

What is particularly encouraging is the breadth of achievement across the College. Students excelled across mathematics, sciences, English, languages, humanities and creative subjects, demonstrating both academic excellence and a willingness to embrace challenge.

These results also build on the College's strong academic performance in recent years. Compared with 2025, the proportion of top grades increased across all headline measures, with particularly strong growth in grades 9-8 and 9-7. The results reflect the College's continued focus on academic excellence, high expectations and personalised support for every student.

Understanding the GCSE Grading System

To support comparison with previous grading systems, grades 9-7 are broadly equivalent to the former A/A grades*, whilst grades 9-6 are broadly equivalent to A-B grades*.
