Wicked the Musical at the West End

Last week, our Ovingdean House boarding pupils enjoyed a truly memorable experience; a trip to London’s Apollo Theatre to see Wicked the Musical. 

From the excitement of dressing up to the thrill of stepping into the vibrant atmosphere of a live West End production, the evening was nothing short of spectacular. It was wonderful to see the pupils so engaged and enthusiastic, embracing the unique charm of British theatre culture—an important and treasured part of our national heritage. 

Wicked captivated everyone with its spellbinding storytelling, stunning stagecraft, and unforgettable musical numbers. The show reimagines the untold story of the Witches of Oz, weaving themes of friendship, courage, and the importance of seeing the world from different perspectives. These messages resonated deeply with our pupils, leaving them with not only an entertaining evening but also meaningful reflections to carry forward. 

This outing was a well-deserved reward for the hard work, dedication, and positive attitude they have shown throughout the term. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and delighted that they could celebrate in such a special and culturally enriching way. 

Here’s to many more magical moments. Hopefully, the next musical isn’t far away.
