Students at Oxford International College Brighton have been showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit through the Peter Jones Tycoon Competition — a unique national enterprise initiative for young people aged 6 to 18.
Each participating team develops a business plan, receives a risk-free goodwill loan, and launches their very own business idea through a Kickstarter-style platform — all within a safe and supportive environment.
From dormitory decorations to handmade jewellery, our students have poured creativity, teamwork, and determination into their projects. The competition has given them a real-world opportunity to learn what it takes to start and run a business, develop their pitching and presentation skills, experience the thrill of healthy competition and make a positive contribution to their community.
The Peter Jones Foundation, founded by entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones CBE, is dedicated to helping young people build enterprise skills and gain the confidence to achieve their ambitions. The Tycoon Competition brings this vision to life — empowering students to think like entrepreneurs, turning ideas into action.
With the chance to meet Peter Jones CBE himself, the competition has been an unforgettable experience for our students, blending creativity, commerce, and character in true OIC Brighton style.
