After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Theoretical Physics, Sibel developed a strong belief that everyone can and should further their knowledge of Mathematics and Physics, at least to A-level. With this in mind, and after exploring other industries such as film and finance, she went on to complete her PGCE in Secondary Mathematics at the University of Brighton.
Sibel has been teaching Mathematics for 13 years in both the state and independent sectors in England, at GCSE and A-level. She has also held positions as an Assistant Head of Year and High Achieving Students’ Co-ordinator, and holds an NPQ in Leading Behaviour and Culture.
Beyond the classroom, Sibel is a keen runner who has represented Great Britain in international competitions, earning medals in her age category. She sees clear parallels between running and mathematics, as both are equally testing and rewarding in their challenges. Her goal is to inspire students to push themselves, embrace challenges, and achieve their full potential.
