Parisa Nejad

Parisa Khalili Nejad is a Mathematics and Computer Science teacher at Oxford International College Brighton with around 10 years of teaching experience. She is from Oxford; she has always loved learning and thrives in her dual role as both teacher and student. Her academic background is diverse, with degrees in Engineering, Medical Statistics, Business (MBA), and Education from the University of Oxford, where she is currently pursuing postgraduate research in Teacher Education.  

Parisa has taught in a variety of settings, including mainstream schools, special education, and international colleges. She is passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and research-informed lessons, often exploring creative approaches to teaching complex topics such as quantum computing.  

Outside the classroom, Parisa brings the same energy and passion to sport. She is a former national karate champion and still enjoys staying active through swimming, badminton, tennis and community events.  

In addition to her teaching, Parisa Khalili Nejad serves as the Internal Internship (‘OIC Fusion’) Coordinator at Oxford International College Brighton, a Middle Leadership role that focuses on connecting high-performing students with cutting-edge academic and industrial research opportunities.  

She supports students in developing skills such as academic writing, critical thinking, and presentation, and guides them toward opportunities to present and even publish their work. The impact of this work has already been seen in student success stories for example, one of last year’s Year 13 students was awarded a $400,000 scholarship from Rice University in the USA, thanks in part to their involvement in research. Parisa is passionate about ensuring that all students have access to this kind of life-changing support and opportunity.  

Through this role, she designs and supervises meaningful projects, supports students in developing advanced research skills, and guides them toward publication and conference opportunities, helping them strengthen their university applications and academic futures. Parisa’s commitment to research-informed, inclusive teaching extends beyond the classroom; as a proud alumna of Kellogg College, University of Oxford (MSc Learning and Teaching, 2021), she has also collaborated on outreach initiatives such as the Bletchley Park week at Kellogg, where she shared her passion for mathematics, computer science, and the history of codebreaking with staff and students.
