Fabrizio is an Italian mathematician and educator born in L'Aquila, a medieval town in central Italy. He holds a PhD in Mathematics with specialisation in Commutative Algebra, and has also conducted separate research in quantum mechanics, particularly focusing on the Efimov effect. His scholarly contributions include published research on Borel type ideals in polynomial rings through Springer, establishing his credentials in algebraic geometry and commutative algebra. Beyond his research accomplishments, Fabrizio holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Mathematics and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), recognising his qualifications in higher education teaching and learning. 

His teaching career started with positions at universities and colleges in Italy before transitioning to the UK education system. His international teaching experience includes work at various international colleges throughout the UK, followed by a position with Harrow School Online, where he delivered mathematics education through digital platforms. He currently serves at Oxford International College Brighton, continuing his commitment to international mathematics education. 

Fabrizio is bilingual in Italian and English, and also speaks some French and a bit of Spanish. His current professional focus extends beyond traditional mathematics education to include educational research in metacognition, collaborating with Project Zero at Harvard University on metacognitive approaches to learning. He attended the metacognition conference at Harvard, where he presented his research on learning attributes in classroom settings. His work combines advanced mathematical knowledge with innovative pedagogical approaches, particularly emphasising metacognitive strategies to enhance student learning outcomes in mathematics education. 

In his current practice, Fabrizio focuses on improving problem-solving and reasoning skills in students through the implementation of probing questioning techniques and structured classroom discussions. He often creates tailored educational resources designed to identify and address mathematical misconceptions, encouraging students to engage deeply with mathematical concepts to achieve complete understanding. As a passionate advocate for student development, he is committed to fostering independent learners and resilient individuals who never give up when faced with mathematical challenges.
