David studied Physics (MPhys) at the University of Manchester, including a year abroad at the University of California Los Angeles. After achieving a 2:1, David studied a PhD plasmonic and Metamaterials. He then did Postdoctoral research in Metamaterials for a couple of years. When he came back to the UK, David decided to be a teacher, achieving his PGCE at Oxford Brookes.
He taught Physics and Maths to international students at Kings Education. David spent 5 years at their Oxford branch, before setting up and the Physics department at their Brighton branch and teaching there for another 5 years.
