Exceptional Learning Experiences
A pathway to success

Your journey to success at OIC Brighton will extend beyond academics. Our pioneering approach will nurture your personal growth and career aspirations, ensuring you have the skills, experiences, and extra qualifications you need to thrive at your dream university.

Exceptional Learning Experiences
A pathway to success

At OIC Brighton, we understand that academic success is just one element of what’s needed to thrive in the modern world. That’s why – as part of our unique three-pillared approach – we’ll focus on your personal growth and help you develop essential future-focused skills.

Our ground-breaking Supercurricular programme is specifically designed to help you fulfil your long-term ambitions. Through six strands – which include programmes, awards, and competitions; clubs and societies; and further personal development – you’ll create a strong portfolio of experiences that will help you stand out from the crowd. Students who join us in Year 9 have even more time to identify and shape their route to success.

You’ll construct your pathway in consultation with your designated Strategy Tutor. If you want to become a lawyer, for example, you can develop your public speaking skills through a LAMDA course. We have links with local hospitals and medical schools, which offer real-world work experience. Want to deep-dive into a topic you’re passionate about? Then you can study for the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), which is the equivalent to half an A-level.

At every stage of your learning journey, we’ll help you develop the characteristics, values, and transferable skills you’ll need to flourish here, at university, and beyond. On Nord Anglia’s award-winning Global Campus platform, for instance, you’ll collaborate, compete, and take on challenges with learners from around the world, whether it’s taking part in an international music showcase or virtually climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.

Wellbeing runs through the heart of everything we do at OIC Brighton. We know that happy, healthy students achieve more, which is why our rigorous academic approach is underpinned by an outstanding pastoral support system. Our Deputy Principal (Pastoral and Wellbeing), Head of Boarding, and Strategy Tutors promote a culture of self-care, respect, and equality. This creates an aspirational environment where like-minded students are supported to be ambitious and take on any challenge.

The OIC Brighton family

OIC Brighton is a special place to live and learn. We’re a dynamic community where everybody works hard and loves a challenge. Our culture of excellence is driven by an exceptional team of teachers and staff, who set high expectations and are committed to helping you achieve your goals.

Of course, we also want you to be happy. That’s why we place health and wellbeing at the heart of college life. Our beautiful campus enhances our sense of community, with our boarding houses and teaching buildings all on the same single site. You’ll join one of our four Houses, too, which cultivates a sense of belonging and inclusion, and provides opportunities for fun and competition across the age groups.

Home to students from more than 20 countries, we’re also a truly international college. You’ll study alongside some of the brightest young minds in the world, bonding over shared passions and goals, and creating unforgettable memories and connections that last a lifetime.

OIC Brighton is a proud member of the Nord Anglia Education family, too. This connects our students to unique global experiences and opportunities, including an immediate network of peers and alumni across the world.

Community/Friendships
Our social purpose

OIC Brighton students are the pioneers of the future; the next generation of global change-makers, leaders, and thinkers. Our progressive ethos will inspire you to make a positive difference in our community – and develop the values, attributes, and understanding to go on and shape the world around us.

Community/Friendships
Our social purpose

Being part of our vibrant international family enriches our students’ experience, broadening their horizons, creating a sense of purpose, and unlocking a breadth of opportunities.

As a community, we place great value on attributes like leadership, resilience, and teamwork. Each year, our students take part in the Young Enterprise Competition, which gives them an insight into the real-world challenges and opportunities of running a business. In the process, they gain hands-on experience, grow in confidence, and cultivate a strong sense of entrepreneurialism.

Our young people also proactively organise their own activities, including student-led clubs and societies through our Supercurricular programme. Founding their own groups, working with others, and following their passions demonstrates determination and commitment, and looks great on university applications.

While you’re with us, you’ll also learn about the challenges facing our planet – and take action to address them – through our exclusive collaboration with UNICEF. You’ll explore pressing issues, including climate change and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, through debates, challenges, and projects on our Global Campus platform. Our students also learn to collaborate, communicate with passion, and find creative solutions to some of the world’s toughest problems through Model United Nations activities and conferences.

We encourage our students to take part in The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award, too. Through the Award, you’ll set their own goals and challenges, and commit to making a difference in our community. The Award builds confidence and self-esteem, and teaches essential skills for the future, including resourcefulness and the ability to solve problems.
